Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1

Introduction

Photos bring memories to life. From taking photos, editing them, and sharing with friends and family, Windows 8.1 can help you capture life’s memories.

Taking photos with a PC

If your PC has a built-in camera or you've connected a webcam, you can take photos and panoramas using the Camera app. Some tablets automatically take several photos in a row (known as a photo loop) for every photo so you’re sure to get the perfect shot.

Viewing and importing photos

There are lots of ways to see your photos in Windows 8.1, like looking at them in apps or displaying them on your lock screen. The Photos and OneDrive apps show all of the photos in your Pictures library and in your OneDrive. You can also use those apps to import photos from your camera or phone.

Editing photos

Sometimes a photo needs some help to bring out the best of a moment. The Photos app will make automatic corrections for you, or you can experiment with lighting and color adjustments, effects, and touch ups, plus cropping and rotating.

Store your photos in OneDrive

Enjoy lots of storage space, easy sharing, and accessing your videos from almost anywhere when you store your videos in OneDrive. You can also set up your camera or phone to automatically upload videos to OneDrive.

Sharing photos

Once you’ve got your photos exactly how you want them, you can email them, post them online, or print them without leaving the app. For more sharing options, search for apps in the Windows Store that post to your favorite social networking or photo sharing sites. You can also display your favorite photos on your PC by setting a photo or slide show as your lock screen or using a picture password. These are just a few ways you can explore all the ways Windows can fill your life with photos.
