If you're having issues with the Weather app, you've come to the right place.

There are a few simple things that you can do to resolve most issues with MSN apps.

  • First, be sure that you have a connection to the internet. If you are on a mobile device and away from Wi-Fi hotspots, be sure that you have allowed the device to use your cellular service.

  • Next, be sure that you are signed in with your Microsoft account and that you are using the same Microsoft account on devices that you want to share information.

  • Launch the app and use it for a while before checking to see if the live tile updates. If you are using the app for the first time, it may download updates and some features may respond slower than expected.

If you see a specific error message, send feedback from within the app and include the error message in your feedback.

If you have tried the 3 basic steps at the top of this article and still have this problem, please provide feedback from within the app and provide as much detail as you can.

If your current location isn't being detected it might be because you're in a region where location detection is disabled such as China, Macao or Taiwan.

Some smaller locations may not have weather data available. If your current location’s weather data is unavailable, the Weather app will show you data from a nearby location.  You can choose to use this larger location for your weather.

If you pin the location to the start screen from within the app, the live tile only updates on that specific device. If you would like your Weather live tile to update across all of your devices, you need to pin the app to the start screen.
