Change Windows Movie Maker general settings

To change general settings in Windows Movie Maker, click Tools, click Options, and then click the General tab. On this tab, you can change the following settings:

  • Temporary storage location. Choose where you want Windows Movie Maker to store temporary project files until you decide to save them to a more permanent location.

  • Open last project on startup. Select this check box if you want to see the last project you were working on when you start Windows Movie Maker.

  • Save AutoRecover info. Choose whether you want Windows Movie Maker to create backup files of your current project and save them in your temporary storage location, and specify how often you want a backup created.

  • Do not include the title, author, copyright, rating, and comments information in the published movie file. You can choose whether your published movie will contain information such as title, author, copyright, and other information. For more information, see Publish a movie.

  • Reset warning dialogs. Click this button to restore any previously hidden warning messages.
