Send a file in e‑mail
You can send files stored on your computer as attachments in e‑mail messages. You can send any kind of file, including documents, pictures, music, or videos.

Right-click the file you want to send in e‑mail, point to Send To, and then click Mail Recipient.
If you prefer, you can also drag files directly into an open e‑mail message. The files will appear as attachments ready to send.

In the e‑mail message that appears, enter an e‑mail address and type any other information you want to include.

When you are finished preparing your message, click Send.

If this is the first time you've sent an e‑mail message, you might have to configure your e‑mail program before the e‑mail message appears. For more information, see Working with Windows Mail.

Some e‑mail programs block types of files (such as files with the file name extension .exe, .bat, or .reg) that have the potential to be malicious software. If you have trouble sending these types of files, compress them into a zip file first, and then e‑mail the zip file. For more information, see Compress and uncompress files (zip files).
