First, make sure that your computer is connected to a wireless or wired local area network (LAN).

To determine whether your computer is connected to a network

  1. Click the Start buttonPicture of Start button, click Network, and then click Network and Sharing Center.

If your computer is not connected, Not connected appears.

  2. To see which network connections on your computer are not working, click Manage network connections in the left pane.

A "X" on the connection icon indicates that the connection is not working.

Tip

When you search for a network projector, the wizard can find it only if the projector is connected to the local subnet (the same network segment that your computer is connected to). However, when you enter a projector's network address, the wizard can locate the projector regardless of where it's connected on the network.

If your computer is connected to a network but the Connect to a Network Projector wizard doesn't list any projectors, it's likely that the network doesn't include any shared network projectors. Ask your system administrator if any network projectors are available.

Try the following:

  1. Turn off the projector, and then restart it.

  2. Open the Connect to a Network Projector wizard by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Connect to a Network Projector.

It is also possible that someone else is already using the projector.

If you are certain that the network address of the network projector is correct, try the following:

  1. Turn off the projector, and then restart it.

  2. Open the Connect to a Network Projector wizard by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Connect to a Network Projector.

If the wizard still can't find a projector, try refreshing the Domain Name System (DNS) server. The DNS server is the service that assigns network addresses.

To refresh the DNS server

  1. Click the Start buttonPicture of the Start button, and then in the Search box, type cmd.

  2. At the command prompt, type ipconfig /registerdns, and then press ENTER.

  3. Restart the projector, and then try to connect to the projector again.

If you still can't connect to the projector, contact your system administrator.

Your computer's CPU may be busy with another system task. Wait a few minutes, and the presentation may continue. If it doesn't, contact your system administrator.
