Use your own style sheet to format webpages

The information in this Help topic applies to Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8.

If you want to specify how webpages will display, you can use your own style sheet. A style sheet is a template that defines the fonts and visual styles that are used on a webpage. Using your own style sheet is helpful if the original design of a webpage doesn't work well for accessibility reasons.

  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.

  2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

  3. Click the General tab, and then click Accessibility.

  4. In the Accessibility dialog box, select the Format documents using my style sheet check box.

  5. Type the name of the style sheet you want to use, or click Browse and navigate to it.

  6. Click OK twice to finish.

Note

You must either write your own style sheets or get them from another source. For more information about creating style sheets, see the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) website or the HTML Writers Guild website.
