Watch an e‑mail or newsgroup conversation

When reading e‑mail or newsgroup messages in Windows Mail, you can keep track of discussions that are of particular interest by watching conversations. When you watch a conversation, the titles of the original message and all its replies appear in color in the message list. In addition, if you choose to display the Watch/Ignore column in the message list, the watch symbol Picture of the watch symbol in the message list appears next to each message in the conversation you are watching.

  1. Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.

  2. In your Inbox or newsgroup message list, click a message that's part of the conversation you want to watch, click the Message menu, and then click Watch Conversation.
