Download updated Guide listings in Windows Media Center

If your computer has no TV tuner, an optional analog or digital TV tuner is required to play and record TV in Windows Media Center.

The Guide provides TV listings to help you find, watch, and record TV shows. It may contain up to 14 days of TV listings at a time, and you can download updated listings whenever you want.

The Guide listings are selected when you identify your Guide package while setting up Windows Media Center. However, if the Guide is displaying incorrect information or lists several channels that you do not subscribe to, you can change your Guide settings. For more information, see Set up Guide listings.

Occasionally, your local TV service provider updates their Guide listings. To ensure that all your channels are current, you may want to manually download the latest Guide listings. When you set up Windows Media Center, you select whether you want Windows Media Center to automatically download the Guide or whether you want to initiate the download yourself.
