Browse the web with Internet Explorer 7. Quickly navigate to different websites using tabbed browsing and search the web right from the toolbar. Internet Explorer 7 also features easier access to Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds and improved printing capabilities. What's more, Internet Explorer 7 provides multiple interrelated security features, including:

  • Parental Controls enable parents to block children's access to objectionable content.

  • Phishing Filter helps to prevent users from sending personal information to potentially malicious websites.

  • Protected Mode provides security and data protection for Windows users.

The Network and Sharing Center is the place where you can check your connection status, view your network visually, and troubleshoot connection problems. The Network and Sharing Center informs you about your network and verifies whether your PC can successfully access the Internet—then summarizes this info in the form of a Network Map. This means you can determine both the cause of the problem and possible ways to correct it.

The Remote Desktop Connection feature in Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions allows you to connect to a remote computer in a different location (for e.g., your work computer). Once you connect, you will have access to all the remote computer's files, programs and network resources.

Sync Center is a convenient central location in Windows Vista from which you can manage data synchronization between PCs, between PCs and servers, and between PCs and devices. The importance of this capability grows all the time as the range of computers, devices, locations, and data sources has exploded.

Windows Vista helps you with the wireless network experience for home, mobile, and business PCs in a number of ways. The Network Awareness feature keeps your programs optimized for the network's changing capabilities. Windows Vista offers support for wireless security protocols, including WPA2. Windows Vista helps you avoid connecting to fraudulent wireless networks that seem like legitimate hotspots but, in fact, are not. You can also easily create ad-hoc (PC-to-PC) wireless networks for use with peer-to-peer activities such as file sharing.
