Windows Update error 80200010

If you receive Windows Update error 80200010 while checking for updates, it usually means that the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) can't access the Internet. This service is used to connect to the Windows website and download updates to your computer.

To correct the problem, make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet and check for updates again. To easily see if you're connected to the Internet, point to the network icon (Picture of the wired network icon‌ or Picture of the wireless network icon) in the notification area and wait until you can see the status of your connection. You'll see the name of your network or the service that you're connected to and the kind of connection you have. If you're on a company or home network, you should see the message Internet access. For more information on checking network status, see View the status of your network.
