Offline files are copies of network files that are stored on your computer so that you can work with them when you're not connected to the network or when the network folder that the files are stored in is not available. For more information about accessing offline files, see Working with network files when you are offline.
The size and number of your offline files determine how much hard disk space your offline files use. To help manage your offline files disk usage, you can:
Find out how much hard disk space your offline files are currently using.
Choose how much hard disk space to allow for your offline files (maximum disk usage).
To perform either of these tasks, follow these steps:
Open Offline Files by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type offline files, and then, in the list of results, click Manage offline files.
Click the Disk Usage tab.
Check your disk usage information or perform any other tasks, and then click OK.
