Turn off your computer using Windows Media Center
You can perform some computer-oriented tasks from within Media Center, such as turning off your computer or making it sleep. This can be useful if you use a Media Center remote control, and you want to perform these tasks without a mouse and keyboard.
To turn off your computer or perform other computer-oriented tasks using a Media Center remote control:

Using a Media Center remote, press the green Start button
to open Media Center.

On the Windows Media Center start screen, scroll to Tasks, select Shut down, and then do one of the following:

To close Media Center, select the
Close
button.

To log off of your computer, select the
Log Off
button.

To turn off your computer, select the
Shut Down
button.

To restart your computer, select the
Restart
button.

To make your computer sleep, select the
Sleep
button.

To cancel and not perform any of these tasks, select the
Back
button.
