Which storage plans are available and how much do they cost?

To see the storage plans that are available in your country or region, and the plan pricing, go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website, and then tap or click Upgrade in the left pane.

I'm having a problem redeeming the code I received for more storage

Make sure you entered the code correctly. It has 25 digits. If you entered the code correctly and it still doesn't work, wait a few minutes and then try again.

When will my subscription expire?

Subscriptions are automatically renewed unless you cancel them. They don't expire. If you paid for a whole year, your subscription will be automatically renewed on the date you bought it. If you paid for a month, the plan will be automatically renewed the following month. To see when your subscription will be renewed or expire if you canceled it, go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website.

Why isn’t my storage plan showing up in OneDrive?

If your storage plan doesn’t appear in OneDrive, go to the Manage storage page and refresh the page. You might need to sign in with your Microsoft account.

How do I update the billing information used with my subscription?

  1. Go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website.

  2. Tap or click Manage next to your storage plan to go to the Microsoft account site.

  3. To change your personal info, tap or click profile, and then tap or click edit profile.

To edit your payment method, tap or click subscriptions, tap or click manage above your OneDrive subscription, choose change payment option, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

  • When your storage plan is automatically renewed, the new payment method and info will be used.

Why do I still have extra storage available if I’ve canceled my subscription?

After you cancel a storage subscription, the storage is available to you until the subscription's expiration date. If you exceed your remaining storage space when the subscription expires, you'll be able to view, share, and download files on your OneDrive, but you won't be able to upload files until you buy more storage or free up space.

How can I switch to a smaller storage plan?

If you buy a storage plan that is larger than you need, follow the steps in the next section to cancel the subscription. Then wait until it expires and select a plan with less storage. If you paid for a whole year, you can also switch to a smaller plan one time during the year. To do this, you'll need to contact customer support. Make sure that the storage you're currently using is less than the new plan's storage limit before you switch to the new plan.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions can't be canceled, but you can cancel auto-renewal:

  1. Go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website.

  2. Tap or click Manage next to your storage plan to go to the Microsoft account site.

  3. Tap or click subscriptions.

  4. Tap or click manage above your OneDrive subscription.

  5. Choose cancel subscription, and then tap or click next.

  6. Tap or click confirm cancellation.

    Note

    • When you cancel your subscription, your storage plan will be available until its expiration date. After your plan expires, your storage will return to the OneDrive free plan.

How do I renew my subscription?

You don't have to do anything. OneDrive storage plans are automatically renewed.

Can I upgrade my storage plan midway through a subscription?

Yes, you can switch to a plan with more storage or switch from a plan with monthly pricing to a plan of the same size or larger with annual pricing. You'll be charged the difference between the cost of the new plan and the time remaining on your existing plan. Your subscription renewal date will be reset to the date that you made the storage plan upgrade.

How do I get a refund?

In most cases, OneDrive subscriptions are non-refundable except where applicable by law.

How do I change my payment method?

Note: To upgrade your storage plan using a different payment method, make sure you change your payment method first, and then select the new storage plan.

To change your payment method:

  1. Go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website.

  2. Tap or click Manage next to your storage plan to go to the Microsoft account site.

  3. Tap or click subscriptions, tap or click manage above your OneDrive subscription, choose change payment option, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

What do I do if my payment method is declined or invalid?

Typically, when a payment method is declined, it's because there’s a problem with your billing info, credit card, or other payment method. To verify that your billing info is accurate, or to change your payment method, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Manage storage on the OneDrive website.

  2. Tap or click Manage next to your storage plan to go to the Microsoft account site.

  3. Tap or click payment options, and then select the payment option you use for your OneDrive subscription plan.

  4. If you need to change the info, tap or click edit.

To use a different payment method, tap or click subscriptions, tap or click manage above your OneDrive subscription, choose change payment option, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

  • If your payment info is accurate and you still receive this error, contact your bank for more info.
