How to use Web Slices in Internet Explorer 9
A Web Slice is specific content from a website that's automatically updated in Windows Internet Explorer, whether you visit the website or not. When you click a Web Slice link on your Favorites bar, you can view recently published content, such as headlines and pictures.
When a Web Slice is available on a webpage, the Web Slice button

appears on the Command bar.
To subscribe to a Web Slice

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button
. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.

If the Command bar isn't visible, right-click the
Favorites button

, and then select
Command bar.

Go to the website that offers a Web Slice.

Do one of the following:

Click the
Web Slice button

on the Command bar.

Click the
Web Slice button

on the page.

In the dialog box, click Add to Favorites bar.
To view a Web Slice on the Favorites bar

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button
. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.

If the Favorites bar isn't visible, right-click the
Favorites button

, and then select
Favorites bar.

Click a Web Slice you want to view.
