Windows comes with several screen savers. You can also create your own screen savers from personal pictures that you've saved on your computer. Also, some software companies offer screen savers that you can download from the web.
You should download screen savers only from trusted sources. Screen savers have the potential to contain malicious software or spyware.
Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type screen saver, and then click Change screen saver.
In the Screen saver dialog box, click the screen saver that you want to use, and then click OK.
To see what your screen saver will look like, after clicking the screen saver that you want to use, click Preview. To end the screen saver preview, move your mouse or press any key, and then click OK to save your changes.
For information about installing a screen saver, see the Help that came with the screen saver that you want to install. You can uninstall screen savers that you've installed, but the screen savers that come with Windows can't be uninstalled.
If you upgraded to Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Starter from a previous version of Windows, you can no longer right-click the desktop to change your screen saver and other appearance settings.
To stop a screen saver and return to your desktop, move your mouse or press any key.
