When you add a picture to a blog, the picture has to be stored online. Many blog service providers offer online storage for your images. Other providers require you to set up your own online storage. If you use a blog service that doesn't provide online storage, you'll need to find a hosting service to provide you with a file transfer protocol (FTP) site.
The hosting service can provide you with the information that you need to set up an FTP site in Writer. After you have this information, you can add an FTP site.
To set up an FTP site in Writer
Open Writer by clicking the
Start button
. In the search box, type
Writer, and then, in the list of results, click
Writer.
On the Home tab, click the blog account that you want to use.
Click the Blog Account tab, and then click Blog options.
In the Edit Blog Settings dialog box, click Pictures.
Select Upload pictures to an FTP server, and then click Configure FTP.
Type the following information, and then click OK.
Host name. The name of your FTP server.
User name and password. The user name and password for your FTP account.
Path of the publishing folder. The file path to the folder on the FTP server. To find this folder, click the Browse button.
Web address of the publishing folder. The web address for the folder that has the images.
To add images to your post
After you set up an FTP site, you'll need to add the pictures to your post.
Open Writer by clicking the
Start button
. In the search box, type
Writer, and then, in the list of results, click
Writer.
On the Home tab, click Picture.
Find the picture you want to use, and then click Open.
If you're asked, enter the user name and password for your FTP site, and then click OK.
