How do I open Paint?

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
    (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.)

  2. Enter Paint in the search box, and then tap or click Paint in the results.

How do I save a picture in Paint?

  1. Tap or click File and then tap or click Save.

  2. Enter a name for the file in the File name box.

  3. Select the file format you want in the Save as type box.

As you work on pictures in Paint, you can quickly save your work by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + S.

How do I open an existing picture file in Paint?

  1. Tap or click File and then tap or click Open.

  2. Select the file you want to open in Paint, and then tap or click Open.

Fresh Paint is a Windows app that you can download from the Windows Store. It's optimized for touch, but great for mouse and keyboard as well. With Fresh paint, you can create realistic oil paint or watercolor-style images or modify photos.
