Windows Media Player automatically organizes files in the Player Library according to the media information available for the files.

To ensure your Player Library is well-organized and that you can find items easily, it's important that your files contain complete and accurate media information. If they don't, you can add the information.

For more information about adding media information, see Add or edit media information in Windows Media Player. For more information about the Player Library, see Getting started with Windows Media Player.

Once you have accurate media information in your files, you have a number of options for arranging files in the Player Library to make them easier for you to find. You can choose between several different display views in the Player Library, select the panes you want to appear, and then choose the columns you want to display.

For more information about finding items in the Player Library, see Find items in the Windows Media Player Library.
