Here are answers to some common questions about the Share charm.

What is the Share charm?

The Share charm is a convenient way to share links, photos, and info without leaving the app you're in. You can share with one or two people at a time, or update your entire social network.

How do I open the Share charm?

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Share.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Share.)

How do I use the Share charm to share something?

Open an app or folder, find a photo, link, or file you want to share, then swipe down or right-click it to select it.
Note
- The files and info that can be shared might be different depending on the app you're sharing from.

Tap or click the app you want to share with, then follow the directions on the screen.

Can I remove apps from the Share charm?

Yes. The Share charm automatically lists all of the apps installed on your PC that can share. But if you don't want certain apps to appear, you can remove them from the list without uninstalling them.

To remove an app from the app list

Are there settings for the Share charm that I can change?

Yes, you can hide or clear the list of the apps, people, and devices you share with most often, and you can decide if you want the apps you use most often to be at the top of the app list.

To stop showing the apps you use most often at the top of the app list

The apps you use most often to share appear at the top of the list of apps in the Share charm automatically. But you can turn this option off if you like, and all of your apps will be listed alphabetically.

To hide the list of apps, people, and devices you share with most often

By default, the apps, people, and devices you share with most often are listed together so you can get to them quickly. But you can hide the list, clear it, or change the number of items in the list.
